I need to improve on my vocal. Talk less but still say relevant stuff. I also need to strategize effective ways to work collaboratively in a way that benefits her work group.

Which good habits should I continue?

I am a very pleasant student. My efforts during class time are appreciated. During the practice and other learning activities, I asks good inquiry questions. When working in small groups, Anouk also keeps herself involved and studies with her peers, collaboratively. She is more confident when completing the speaking tasks. She demonstrates a good understanding of the spoken language and she is able to use the appropriate vocabulary and sentences to express herself most of the time. Anouk also did well on the vocabulary quizzes. This demonstrates her effort to revise and practice after the class.

I should continue paying effort during class, ask good questions and keep getting involved in small group.

I need to borrow some books in Chinese to improve my reading and writing.




I will have to attain a high goal of 1 book by month.

I am a very enthusiastic student in her Humanities classes. I regularly volunteers answers and works well in pair and whole class activities.

I have to be enhusiastic but not too much.

What do I need to improve?

What are my goals/when will I meet them?

Although I can communicate my ideas clearly, it would benefit me to have some clarity of expression to transfer the writing skills that I am covering in English classes into my written Humanities work.

I can pay more attention in class and use vocabulary word.

I am a enthusiastic member of the group and I take a keen interest in the lessons and appears to enjoy all aspects of the work. I have demonstrated growth in my knowledge and confidence with the basic mathematical functions when attempting to correctly solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems with decimals and fractions, utilize the order of operations to solve complex problems, and identify equivalent fractions.

I should still continue to be enthusiastic.

Which good habits should I continue?

My knowledge and understanding of music has been of an excellent standard. The end of unit performances and assessments that I completed, particularly in Baroque and listening tasks, demonstrated a thorough understanding of notation, rhythm and the elements of music. This has been a real strength and is a great foundation for future musical studies.

I came up with some interesting possible designs like my poster and banner and coverflow.

I need to improve my research and summarising skills. A larger range of ideas with detailed notes would be beneficial to my grades in the future.

I could have improved me working with my mum. Often, when I cannot do an essay or when I am stuck, I ask my mum for help. I think that I improved because now, she helps me less then the other times. She told me a point and I had to develop it and I think it was because I did not know how to do PEE paragraph.

Collaboration:
I think that now, I am close to the "I am amazing" scale. I said that to improved, I would have to talk not so roughly to other and be nice and listen to their ideas. Now, That is what I do. I try to listen to their ideas. I said it was really important because if the other student does not talk, the teacher will think that they don't want to talk but now, I make them talk and share their ideas (sometimes better than my ideas.)

I did what I said I would do. I said that I had to make the other person talk when they did not want to talk and I did. Now, I think that people feel more comfortable talking to me because I like listening to them. I know that I can learn new things from them and I know that if I cannot understand what they are saying, I will ask them and not be scared.

It affected how I work and my growth in this area because now, I learn new things. In Science where I do not get a lot of things, I know that if I ask someone at my table group, they will tell me and explain to me what it is. I grown because now, I can stop talking to listen to my classmates.

Communication:
I think that I improved a little in Communication. Before, I would have yelled at them when they would have said something right. Before, I would always talk first and talk during the whole time. Now, I just agree that they are right and ask them to explain why it is right to me. Now, I asked to people o talk before me because I know that if I did not do that, I would talk and just go on and on.

I said that I had to let others talk before me and I did. I think I am closer to the Iam amazing part because I improved. I did and said what I had to do and I did.

Doing it made me improve in Communication. Before, I talked loudly, now I talk softly. Before I would be really angry at the person who would talk and cut me but now, I don't mind. I would hate to not say one idea and I would cut someone to say it. Now, I just write it down and I say it later. I think that overall I improved a lot in communication.

Organisation:
I said I would improve if I handed in my work on time. I did. I handed in my work on time and I know that because I got higher grades. When I did not hand it in, I did it quickly because I wanted to be done and I was tired of doing it. I missed out some information in the PEE paragraphs or I forgot to include a part and I got 4's and 3's but now I have 5's and 6's and it feels good. I am not tired, I am not scared to get a detention or anything.

I did what I said I would do. I said that I would hand in my work on time. I did. I got higher scores and I followed the feedback given to me. I also said that I needed to stay "on task" because I got distracted by things. I did improve on that because before, my teacher ould asked me to ficus about 4 times before I actually did. Now, they asked me once and I am focused.

It affects my growth because now, I see that being more focused and handing in my work is good. I get higher grades and I know this shows my growth. In Maths, I only got 4's and at my last assessment, I got a 5. In Science, I used to get 3's and 4's and now I get 5's, 6's and 7's. I know I have been less distracted.

Student led Conference Humanities

HUMANITIES:
Geography:
I compared these two assessment. The first assessment is the assessment where I got the highest grade in the Brazil unit. The second one was the summative assessment I failed about the Roman collapse. When I compared these two I realized that when I went back on the last Unit my summative assessment was a complete fail and I was not focused. The other one was good, I was focused on what I was doing I asked questions, had help and I got to this really good grade. Maybe the reason this grade was not up is because I was not passionated about this subject and for Ariba I understand the problem.

The third piece of work I choose shows my improvement in map skills. I remember that the last time when I did this piece of work I did it wrong and I had to restart. I got 12/15. I am proud of this piece of work because I did know how to read a key and reproduce it on paper but it was kind of new. When I finished the unit, it was easy for me to know everything on that, with good practice and a good teacher. Maybe this is not my best piece of work, this is not the baddest at all.

How I react in group:

I still need to learn about how to react in group. When I am in a group I always react when somebody does not do what they supposed I I still need to learn about how to react in group. When I am in a group I always react when somebody does not do what they supposed I get angry. Sometimes when someone is just messing around or do something wrong or even say their opinions I get angry. I am not where I am supposed to be because I do not know how to stop it. I did not grow as much as I thought I would because when I try to improve it or when I try to stop being angry with people they just restart what they were doing so I need to make my point clear again. I will improve it by letting the other distract themselves and I will just ignore them except if they have a questions concerning the subject I am on. If they talk about someone or something else I will just ask a question to the teacher or continue writing or I will distract myself not to look at them and yell at them.

Focus:

In Maths I need to improve how I focus, I often (or sometimes) go off task and when I do, I do not work and I loose precious class time. When I have my friend next to me I go off-task by asking stupid question or talking to them about what happened before. I need to focus on my work and not others work. I also get distracted by my Macbook. To improve this problem I think I need to sit at a table alone with more hard copy work than MacBook. Then I need myself not to get distracted. I could focus more by listening to the teacher and going away from my friends.

I chose lab reports writing as an area of growth because I think I did well on it. I understand everything and I am proud of myself. At the start of the year I did't know how to write a lab report, then I practiced and I had help from Mr Jock and now I know how to write a lab report. I know there is still things to work on like Criterion D or the words I use. When I will write another lab report I will know exactly what to focus on. I will try to do my best but I am already proud of this and what I wrote.

NOTE TAKING:

I chose note taking as an area of growth. I chose note taking because there is some growth in what I did. At first I failed and my notes were 3 sentences and then I practiced. I improved in a way that I used a method:

This method helped me through the year to improve my note taking. It say that at first you have to read the document once. Then you reread it but you have to stop at each paragraph and take the important words or sentence. The you reread it another time to make sure you do not forget anything. The most important thing is that you have to paraphrase.

Maths:
ALGEBRA:
I chose 1 step Algebra. I chose 1 Step Algebra to show my growth. At the start of the year I did not even know what Algebra was. I was hard working and I concentrated to learn this. I chose this because it is a piece of work that represents what I did and my improvements. This piece of work now seems easy but at the start of the year I always asked questions and failed some of these. Now I know exactly what I did to improve and I will do that on every piece of work I learn.

FRACTIONS:
I chose improper fractions and mixed fractions. I chose these because they show my improvements in fractions. My understanding of these is much better. I understand what to do and how to do it. If in a test these improper fractions were given to me I would answer them really quickly and neatly because I know what there is and the techniques to use. I concentrate but I still need improvements on these. At the start of the year I did not know how to answer these. I did not know about these and the progress I made in a short time made me chose this one.

I think I was a leader. I was a leader because the people in my group listened to me. I am not a follower because I took action and I did the experiment with what I thought is right. I imposed myself while listening to the others ideas. I think overall I was a leader because I like being one and I just cannot be a follower.

Maths- Explaining how to use an equation and place it on a coordinate plane

First:


If you have an algebraic equation like this one: 2x+2 then you have to look at the constant. The constant is the number you add or subtract to x. The constant in this kind of operation shows the y intercept. The y intercept is the line that crosses the y axis. So put a point on +2 because i t says so in the equation. Then start looking for the other points. You will know where they are thanks to the slope. The slope indiquates what the next points on the line will be. Here the slope is 2. Go up two points and then go 1 point o the side and do this four time and you have your line.

Sciences refraction

Air, water. Without air you could not breath because the humans being need air to survive. If we do an experiment where you are bot allowed to breath for 2 minutes it is impossible.

Water because without water your body would not be as big as it is. I think there is about 7 liter of water in your body. Without water how would you dehydrate.

On a scale from 1 to four I would give myself a 3 because I understand it well but I am not sure I can do the test yet. I understand what we are talking about but I ned to practice more. I think that I need to practice on the positives and negatives because I dont understand why -2 + 4= -6 . Reflection on my behavior in science class

How well did you use your class time?
I used my class time quite well today. It was easy to understand even if there were some times I was out of task because I was talking to my friends. Overall I followed and understand the class well.
Are you on task most of the time? Why or why not?
I was not on task all the time. I was talking to my friends and asking them questions. I think I was most of the time on task because I know what this class was about.
What can you do to improve your attention in class?
I could take distance in science class with my friends and focus more on the (group) work. I could stop trying way to play and finally stop talking unless I have a question or an answer or to talk with my group.

Algebra Survey

1 Steps:
On one step I would have 4/4 because I am really good at it and I work very hard on it. If I did more exercise it would not necessarily be useful.

2 Steps:
On two steps I would have 2/4 because I did not understand fully the two steps. It is weird for me not to solve the problem because I am used to it. It is also weird to like take the x and try to find when he is multiplied with others numbers like:2x+3=5

Simplification:
I would have 3 because I understand fully even if sometimes it is a little bit blurry. I need practice on this but still it is ok because I practice at home.

Algebra with brackets:
I would have a 3 too because it is easy and I can do it without trouble. I still need a little bit of exercise.

The teacher explains one times the exercise or what we are learning for everyone and then for those who do not understand they still have a chance to understand and do the exercise without any fault of misunderstanding.
---What could the teacher do to help you learn even better in class?
The teacher could do groups that do the things they did not understand and spend time with them. Make roles like the first table is going to be the first that need his help and then the second one.
---What could the teacher stop doing to help you learn even better in class?
He could stop explaining the criteria during 1 whole period. Sometimes the criteria takes a long time to explain but one times we spent a whole period understanding the criterions.
