Blog reflection:

What did I like the most?

- Building a raft for competition, Also diving into the water.


What was most challenging aspect of ECW?

- The most challenging aspect of ECW was hiking thought the mountains.


What were they most proud of and Why?

- That i did not fall down while going though the mountains by slippery rocks.

IF i have fallen down, I could get wet, therefore i will be cold all night.

The ONE area that "I need to improve..."
Reading the assessment question carefully. The biggest problem that I have while I am doing the assessment is that I read the question to quickly, that I understand the question differently to others. Because that I understand the question different, it means that I did not understand the question well. Also, the reason that I got the easy question wrong is that I sometimes do mistakes, but usually, I understand the question wrong, so I calculate differently, that leads me to the wrong position.

Math:
First Growth: Assessments
The best work I have done in math was the Criterion A, knowledge and understanding. The title of the assessment was Grade 6 test, i think it was about the "Place Value", "Operations with Integers" and "Operations with Decimals". I think this is my best work because first of all, I got the highest Criterion A score. Also, there were a part where I wrote all the steps clear. Second of all, the hardest questions were all correct, though I got easy one wrong. How ever, in the other test, the first test in grade 6 which is "The popcorn stand problem" the score was so low. After the popcorn stand problem, my score got better, although I was not able to reach the highest score.

Second Growth: Preparing for assessments
Since the assessments got closer, I needed to prepare for the assessment. The assessment was about "Coordinate Planes". That was about Criterion A. I practiced for that assessment very hard, to get the maximum score which is 8. I practiced with my math teacher, for 1:30 hours of the day. I practiced 3 times in the week. But in the test, the score that I was thinking of was different. I got 5. I got lots of thing wrong, especially the hardest one. So, I thought that I need to do better.

Science:
First Growth: Hypothesis
The first time that I have wrote my hypothesis was very strange. The good hypothesis structure must be: [If ... Then... Because]. The first time that I have written down was horrible. For instance, the problem was:
Problem: How does the temperature of the water effect the speed of which sugar melts?
Bad Hypothesis: I think the hot water will make the sugar melt faster. On the other hand, the cold water will make the sugar to melt slower...
<-- Did not use the structure of if, then, because.
Good Hypothesis: If the temperature of the water have an affect on the speed of which sugar melts, then the hotter water will affect of faster the sugar melts, and the colder water will affect of slower the sugar melts. Because...
<-- Used the structure of if, then, because clearly.
Using IF, THEN, BECAUSE is efficient for GOOD hypothesis because that structure tells exact meaning of what you really want to say. Also, the structure is clear and brilliant to EXPLAIN your hypothesis.

Second Growth: Note Taking
The first time of my note taking was quite good but also needed lots of help. My note taking was bad because while we are note taking, we need to put as much information as we can to explain or get information about it. The note taking must have a few information, that is about 4~5 notes about the topic. But my first note taking was about 1~2 ideas. But since the unit changed to the part where we have to take a lot of notes, I took lots of notes. Then, I learnt that I need to read carefully, also to take the notes efficiently with lots of informations about the topic.

Reading the assessment criteria carefully, to get high score. I usually look at the criteria, but the most of the time, i don’t. So, I sometimes get low scores.

I need t improve on speaking.

I need to improve on writing. I sometimes have grammar mistakes.


Mathematics
I think i achieved my goal. Now, i get high scores than before.

Science
I think i achieved my goal. Now, i get good scores from science. In lab report, I can write a good hypothesis.

Chinese
I think i achieved my goal. Now, in Chinese speaking, i feel more confident than before, but i just have to improve a little bit on Chinese speaking.

English
I think i achieved my goal. Before, I had a lot of grammar mistakes. There was a lot which I got a low grade for the test. But now, I achieved which there are less grammar mistakes. However, I still have to improve.

Math

The teacher helps me by explaining how to do that method or shows the method in order, the method is in organization order. So when I don’t understand of the math operations or math things, I ask for help and then the teacher comes to me and then ask me the specific question what I need for help. And then the teacher explains how to do that math thing. I think the teacher can help us learn better in the class if the teacher is repeating the math thing over again WHEN the students getting confused about the math topic. Also I think the teacher can help us learn better if the teacher make a two group for every new subject for the students that know how to do that math thing and the students that don’t know that math thing. I think the teacher could stop for making the student learn better is to stop going around. I think if the teacher is sitting in the own seat and go to the student

1 step algebra - 4

I gave my self 4 because I am extremely familiar with the simple algebra. I can do very easy, it is just a algebra, there is a method.

2 step algebra - 4

I gave my self 4 because I am also extremely familiar with the algebra. I can use the algebra very easy. There is a method, put the pro numeral only together, other numbers together and then calculate.

Brackets - 4

I gave my self 3 because I am quite familiar with the confusing algebra, I kept on having mistakes through out the calculation.

Simplification - 4

I gave my self 2 ~ 3 because I am quite not familiar with the complicated algebra, I make a lot of mistakes through out the calculation.

Vocabulary - 3

I keep on forgetting the vocabulary, my math vocabulary is weak.

Algebra with Pattern - 4

I can find the pattern with algebra easily.


- Behavior

I use the class time quite often, but not always. I sometimes do what the teacher did not ask me to do. When I am doing the work, I usually focus on. But when I am not on the work, I start to be not focused.
I can improve my attention by getting into focus with not talking with my friend.

How Well Did I understand in today's lesson
Rating = 4

I understood the organization of showing the work that I have done through my question. For instance, collecting all the terms, should include specific details or steps that have taken in the math equations.

Example =
3(X+2)=15
3X + 6 = 15
3X = 15 - 6
3X = 9
X = 9 ÷ 3
X = 3

I needed help with the collecting all the like terms. It was confusing because it needed to be organized, should be in a different equation. 2 + 3 + X = 5 + X
I will learn better if I ask teacher more question about the question makes me confusing.


Science

The teacher could helps me by the teacher explains how does the thing works, how does that works. The teacher also ask people to give there opinion for the science thing. The students answer to the teacher. The teacher give the group a experiment and let us inquire the thing, which makes the understanding better. I think the teacher can help us learn better in the class to repeat the science thing again to make sure the students are able to understand the science thing. Also the teacher can help us learn better for the groups that have a well understandable people and not well understandable people, it will make the not understandable people understand better. I think the teacher could stop doing to make the student learn better it the teacher give us less time to work on science thing. If there is less time to work on science, It is hard to learn / understand the science thing. The teacher need to stop giving us less time to work because if there is less time to work, in the test, the test will look hard for the student. But if the teacher gives us more time to work, we will get more encourage to do the test more and more easier then the normal test

The reason why I have chosen marker is that marker is composited by 'Cap, Ink out put, Ink and the rest off below.' We need these items to make the marker to write on the white board.

Reflection

Today's class was quite good for me. There were no leader today's class, because I was working independently, Nicholas and Marek was chatting a lot together. They chat a little bit with Erika and Lucy. Marek did his work, Nicholas was fulling around that he said to Nicholas to stop. I was active today, I did everything to do. I said to Nick Stop fulling around, I only said once.

Since I have learning music from Mr. Vikery, I learned that there are lots of music from the past. For example, only a cappela, music that only uses harmony. Also, there were a assessment that he gave was, which was to research about opera and other music. But it was interesting, i got high score.
